what is quiirk all about?
quiirk is an online gallery featuring limited edition and one off pieces of decorative art for the home. quiirk works with a range of artists and designers who we have carefully selected, to create beautiful items such as prints, furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles and metal. All of these products can be bought directly through the website.
For each product, quiirk will seek to show you a variety of images to represent it as accurately as possible. We will also give you the story behind the piece and the artist. As the products are handmade, many of them are truly unique and can never be fully replicated. We want to make individual pieces easily accessible to everyone, enabling you to reflect your personality and style. We believe that these handcrafted items are art for the home.
who are quiirk’s artists?
We have found our artists from all over the country. Some are established in their field; others are a new talent in the art and design world. In each case we have carefully selected the artist and products that we love, and hope you will too.
what does ‘limited edition’ mean?
A ‘limited edition’ is a where an artist has create a limited number of a certain product – whether a print, a bowl or a wallhanging. The size of the Edition will vary. In the case of prints these will normally be numbered and signed by the artist. Once all the pieces in that edition have been sold they cannot be re-ordered. This ensures that they remain rare and therefore often make a good investment for the future. Equally importantly, you will have a unique piece in your home.
can I commission a piece?
In some cases, it may be possible to commission an artist to create something excusively for you. If you want to explore this option, please contact quiirk at firstname.lastname@example.org
will the piece I receive look exactly like the pictures on quiirk?
We work closely with our artists and designers to make sure that we have high resolution images of all the pieces for sale. Where a product is multi-dimensional we will show you a variety of views from several angles. Because products are handmade, there may be some natural variation which is part of their individual character. We make this clear in the description of each item. We will also detail how many pieces have been produced in each range. In the case of our limited edition prints, again as these are produced in print runs the visual representation may differ slightly from print to print.
how do i know what size my piece is?
are quiirk prints framed?
Most of our pieces are unframed. However in some cases we may be able to arrange this. Please email email@example.com to discuss this further.
how can i find out about new additions to the quiirk website?
We are constantly finding new artists and adding new pieces to our site. You can search all pages by ‘newness’ to find the most recently added items. If you want to be kept up to date with new products you can register your email by clicking on ‘my account’ and enter your information. You do not need to purchase a product in order to do this. Once you have registered with us we will email you from time to time with information on new artists and products. If you want to unsubscribe at any time, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will remove you from our list.
what if i don’t like my piece?
If you are not satisfied with the piece that you buy, then you have 7 days in which to let us know that you want to return your item by contacting email@example.com. You then have a further 7 days in which to arrange its return. Please see our returns policy.
what if there is a fault with my piece?
In the unlikely event that there is a fault with your item please contact firstname.lastname@example.org within 3 days of receipt of your product. You may be required to produce photographic evidence of the damage. In this case quiirk will refund the item, including postage and packing, once the item has been returned to the artist. The return period is 14 days from the date in which the product was initially received by you. A refund will be given unless it has been agreed that a replacement product will be provided at the agreement of you, quiirk and the artist.
how do I buy a quiirk piece?
All quiirk products can be bought directly through the website. Once you have chosen the item you wish to purchase, simply click on the ‘add to bag’ button. To complete the purchase go to ‘view bag’ or click on the bag icon at the top of the page. You will then be able to ‘proceed to checkout’ and enter your billing and delivery address details. To complete the payment you will be taken to the paypal webpage where you can pay for the product with a card if you don’t have a paypal account.
what payment options do you accept?
at what point is my order confirmed?
Once you have purchased a product and completed the payment you will get an email from quiirk showing that we have received your order. We will then contact the artist to confirm that the order can be completed and get an estimated dispatch date. Once we have this information we will email you to confirm your order.
how can I track my order?
We will send you an email as soon as your order is dispatched, this will include a tracking number.
how can I cancel my order?
If your order has not yet been shipped, you can cancel your order by emailing us at email@example.com. This does not apply, however, to any bespoke items that have been individually commissioned.
what postage and packing costs can I expect?
All our items are individually packaged and posted by our artists, to ensure that they get to you in the safest way, in perfect condition. Prices will vary according to the product but will be clearly highlighted on each product page. If you require ‘express delivery’ options please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do what we can to arrange this with the artist, although additional charges may be applicable.
will there be other duties and taxes applicable on products that I buy?
All quiirk products will be inclusive of VAT where applicable. If products are shipped internationally there may be additional fees and duties applicable which we will make clear once you place an order or you can contact us at email@example.com to discuss. In some countries you may be subject to duties and taxes from your local customs office before you can claim your package. We have no control over this process and those costs are not included in our pricing.
